Modimo O Matla Centre serves Hammanskraal and surrounding communities through HIV prevention and testing, adherence support, community outreach and care for orphaned and vulnerable children.
About us
Started by five Methodist Church members working in health in Temba.
What began as care for people who still needed help after leaving hospital has grown into a set of programmes the community relies on.
Care after discharge
The organisation began operating after recognising the need for community-based care and support for people who still required assistance after hospital discharge.
HIV Testing Services
An HIV Testing Services programme was established.
Orphaned and vulnerable children
Support for orphaned and vulnerable children was expanded.

Access to care, continuity of care, and support for vulnerable people.
01HIV testing and prevention
Health education, counselling and testing, condom distribution, IEC materials, community mobilisation, stigma and discrimination support, referrals, TB and STI screening and VMMC-related services.
02Adherence clubs
Follow-up and tracing support for patients who miss appointments, medication collection or viral-load collection, together with health education, screening and CCMDD support.
03Orphaned and vulnerable children
Social, health, educational, psychological and spiritual support, including assistance such as food parcels, school uniforms and stationery.
04Community outreach
Community mobilisation, health education, referrals and outreach activities across Hammanskraal and adjacent provinces.
05Adolescent girls and young women
Mentorship for adolescent girls and young women aged 14–24 as part of the organisation's community support programmes.
06GBV support
Support for victims of gender-based violence through in-house skills development and referrals to appropriate services.
